Reverend Johnson, the Celebrity Wedding Officiant for the hit Netflix T.V. show Love is Blind,  was ordained as a Senior Worship Pastor by the First Baptist Church of Lawrenceville, Ga. in 1976.  In addition, he was also appointed to the role of Advisory Wedding Officiant by the Southern Baptist Convention. He is a graduate of both the University of Georgia and Columbia Theological Seminary.  Also, the CEO and Founder in 1982 of the Gwinnett Christian Counseling Center for Marriage and Family Therapy.

Along with this, Reverend Johnson was the first Pastor for Family Bible Fellowship in Atlanta. Afterwards, he served as Senior Pastor for Monfort Road Baptist Church also in Atlanta. As well as Staff Chaplain for Georgia Baptist Hospital and for the Veterans Administration Hospital.

Combat Chaplain United States Air Force

Additionally, Reverend Johnson was proudly commissioned in 1983 as an Officer/Chaplain in the United States Air Force. Militarily, he was Base Chaplain for Dobbins Air Force Base and was attached to Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama and Pearl Harbor Naval Base in Hawaii.  Also, a decorated combat veteran of Operation Desert Storm. He has given the Air Force Prayer at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington, D.C.  

The New Military Bible

Above all else, he was an Editor for The New Military Bible.  It can be seen in all military installation chapels throughout the world. A Special Presentation copy from Reverend Johnson is on display at the Gwinnett County Veteran's Museum.

Serving a Dual Role as Both Military Chaplain and Prison Chaplain

Below, we see the Emblem of the United States Air Force Chaplaincy Division.  Reverend Johnson proudly wore this emblem both as a Reservist and Active Duty military.  In addition, as seen below, he is also a Commissioned Southern Baptist Prison Chaplain.  You can see in the picture a rare Incarcerated Inmate Wedding at Dooly State Prison officiated personally by Reverend Johnson.
